RESEARCH INTERESTS

After graduating from Boston University with a Bachelor's degree in Earth Science, I spent a few
years in the Air Force as an Intelligence Officer. I had the opportunity to serve in North Dakota, Texas
and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Although I had a fantastic time, it's great to be studying Geology once again.

Research Interests:

- Using geochemical concepts to solve low-temperature, earth surface problems. I'm especially interested in
learning more about pollution remediation and abrupt climate change.

- I will be using stable isotope geochemistry, as well as C-14 dating, to analyze the climate recorded in a
core from Lake Tanganyika, Africa. I hope to isolate specific Heinrich events. In addition, I want to
correlate the results to findings from other lakes in the region.
