BIOGRAPHY and RESEARCH INTERESTS
Education: B.S. Geology, 2007, Syracuse University
Undergraduate research was focused mainly on learning (U-Th)/He thermochronologic methods while specifically constraining exhumation ages recorded on apatites from northern Victoria Land, Antarctica.
During the summer of 2007, I went to the Pyrenees as an undergraduate field assistant for Paul Fitzgerald, Suzanne Baldwin, and research associate Jim Metcalf. Fieldwork included collecting samples in vertical profiles from Hercynian age, granitic plutons and also in situ samples from some of the major Alpine thrusts in the west central Pyrenees.
Generally, my current research project is focused on studying the evolution and variation of the Pyrenean orogen. Specifically, I will be using (U-Th)/He and 40Ar/39Ar thermochronologic methods in order to constrain uplift and exhumation of one pluton located in the west-central Pyrenees, while also looking at timing of movment along the Gavarnie thrust system.
FIELD PHOTOS
One of my main interests in 2007 was traveling through Europe. It was an enlightening experience and I met so many different people who were so generous and eager to show us where and how they lived.
Other hobbies of mine are painting, sketching, reading, hiking and any athletic activities. I am always looking for new things to try…
