Using the Sharepoint Earthsciences Intranet

Syracuse University has adoped Microsoft's Sharepoint 2010 at the Enterprise level.  Earth Sciences has a collection of sites under a central folder that are used by differing personnel groups within the Department of Earth Sciences.  Active Directory is used for Authentication to each of the Personnel sites, i.e. NetID and Password are required for login and access to any of the intranet sites.  Assingment of any individual to a Personnel grouping is done by Mike Cheatham.

Earth Sciences Department personnell should start at the root folder where they can see which Earth Sciences sites they have access to.  The url is : https://sharepoint.syr.edu/earthsciences/SitePages/Home.aspx

Individual Research Groups can utilize Sharepoint 2010 to host secure access collaborative workgroup space.  Active directory is still used for access and authentication.  Current group sites are:

Isotope Geochemistry (https://sharepoint.syr.edu/earthsciences/ResearchGroups/IsoGeochem/SitePages/Home.aspx)

Water Resources (https://sharepoint.syr.edu/earthsciences/ResearchGroups/Water_Resources/SitePages/Home.aspx)
