Chris Junium's Paleoclimate Research facility will be constructed during the summer of 2012.  It will include 855 SF of Class 10000 Clean Lab space, 135 SF of Sample Prep Space, and 61 SF of Gas Tank storage space.

May 13, 2012  start of work on Junium Clean Lab. Photo above of is the interior of the Clean lab space for Chris Junium's PaleoClimate Resrearch lab.  Picture is taken from the NE corner of the room.  This image shows the space post abatement for Asbestos and PCB's and syn demolition phase.

Sept 28, 2012: Above picture taken from same spot as image above.  Space is divided.  This image shows the interior of Chris Juniums new Paleoclimate/Stable Istope Clean Chemistry Class 10K space.  Walls are covered by FRP (fiberglass reinforced panels.  Interior Window wall is installed as shown on right side of image.  New ductwork in ceiling is all insulated.  T-bar ceiling grid is installed in ceiling.

Sept 28 image from inside the clean instrument lab

September 28, 2012: Image above taken from the NW corner of the new Junium Paleoclimate/Stable Isotope lab.  This image shows the Class 10K CLean Instrument lab.  Walls are covered by FRP panels, ductwork is insulated.  T-bar ceiling grid is installed.  Interior window wall is installed (for tight climate control).  Stainless Strut ladder from ceiling to floor will carry electrical and gas services to the Mass Spectrometers.  Gases are run through special Swagelok brand 3/8 electropolished and cleaned 3/8" stainless steel tubing.

The image above hi-lites the 390 SF Class 10000 Clean Instrument room.  The lab will house two Stable Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers (SIRMS's) as well as a LC-MS.

The image above hi-lites the 103 SF Gown -up room as well as the 360 SF Class 10000 Clean Chemistry lab.  This lab will feature two Class 10 Isolation Cabinets custom manufactured by Reynolds Tech Fabricators here in the Syracuse area.

The image above hi-lites the Sample Prep room.  Chemical operations performed here allow for the handling of bulkier/larger samples that are prepared in a manner that allows the subsequent sub-sample to move into the Clean Chemistry Lab for further processing.  This room also serves as the ante room between the Clean Lab spaces and the public hallway.

The image above hi-lites the 61 SF gas tank use and storage room.  This room will house various cylinders of hi pressure gas used at various points in both the Clean Chemistry and Clean Instrument rooms.
